The Home Brew Recipe Calculating Program - The F9 Look Up Function
The F9 look up function is available for any field that has a database table behind it, or a useful calculator to support it. This is indicated by a message on the status bar saying Press F9 to.... Pressing the F9 key activates the function.
Fields with Database Tables
If a field has a database table behind it, the Search Screen displayed. Selecting a record from the Search Screen will bring the data from the record into the field as well as any related fields.
The Following Fields Have Database Tables:
- Grains/Fermentables - Searches table of same name. Selecting a record populates the Grains/Fermentables, Specific Gravity Contribution, and Lovibond rating with the data from the table.
- Hops - Searches table of same name. Selecting a record populates the Hop field and will retrieve the AAU from the table if the AAU field associated with the Hop is null.
- Miscellaneous Ingredients - Searches table of same name. Selecting a record populates the field.
- Yeast Strains - Searches table of same name. Selecting a record populates the field.
- Style - Searches table of same name. Selecting a record populates the field.
- Units - Searches table of same name. Selecting a record populates the field.
Fields with Supporting Calculators
If a field has a calculator to support it, the calculator will be displayed. Clicking the OK button on the calculator will bring the value(s) into the field as well as any related fields.
The Following Fields Have Supporting Calculators:
- Amounts - Any field that holds a number indicating an amount of an ingredient used will active a calculator. If the field relates to a volume, the Volume Converter is displayed otherwise it will active the Weight Converter. This includes the Volume, Malt Amount, Hop Amount, and Boil Volume fields.
- AAU, Min, IBU - These fields are supported by the IBU Calculator. Selecting OK populates the Form, AAU, Amount, Min, and IBU fields.
- Temperatures - All fields that hold temperatures are supported by the Temperature Calculator. Selecting OK populates the field.
- Dates - All date fields can call the Calendar.
- Carbonation Technique - This field is supported by the following calculators: Bottle Priming, Force Carbonation, and Krauesen/Gyle Carbonation. Selecting OK populates the field.
